Offerings

Your body, your experience.

Yoga for All

I offer gentle hatha style movement, pranayama (breath regulation), meditation and deep relaxation in a safe, inclusive space which is suitable for all levels. I believe in offering an embodied experience, enabling one to allow for their own body, mind, and breath connection.

Hatha style movement allows one to move their body slowly into different shapes (poses) that challenge your strength and flexibility, while at the same time focusing on relaxation and mindfulness.

Classes are suitable to all levels and genders.

I currently run sessions in Morrinsville.

I have experience in teaching within a school environment as I currently teach the children at our local rural community school offering a 10-week block series once a year.

My teachings have extended to local daycares, kindergartens, after school and holiday programs, public libraries, along with running my own After School Yoga for Kids. I have also worked with families and children with additional/neurodivergent needs.

My aim is to extend my teachings into the Community, as a dedicated Yoga teacher, my mission is to teach children the art of yoga and mindfulness and give them essential tools to cope with daily stresses throughout their life journey.

Private sessions are also available.

Trauma Informed Movement

This specialised type of movement involves considering past trauma and the resulting coping mechanisms when attempting to understand the behaviours of those we are working alongside.

My trauma teaching stems from my own self-compassion and empathy, I am committed to offering an embodied somatic-practice, using inclusive, invitational and interoceptive language and creating and holding a safe space for all participants.

I believe trauma informed movement enables us as facilitators to be able to walk alongside an individual as they embark on their own journey of personal growth and well-being.

I completed my Trauma Informed Movement Facilitator (TIMF) training through SomaPsych (October 2021 to May 2022), and the training was very knowledgeable and empowering.

Yin Yoga

This is a slow, passive, and gentle, restorative form of yoga.

  • It is aimed at targeting the deeper more yin tissues within the body, the connective tissue fascia, ligaments, tendons and joints

  • Asanas (yoga pose) are held for up to 5 minutes with props such as bolsters, blocks, blankets and cushions for support

  • As you arrive in the asana, you begin to explore your level of comfort within your physical body

  • Once there, allow yourself time to find stillness within the body, mind and breath

  • As you hold the asana for a length of time this allows the muscles to soften a little deeper and work deep within the more yin like tissues

  • Assists with activating the parasympathetic nervous system, generating a calming, relaxing and nourishing state within the body and mind.

  • Enhances a sense of physical health and mental well-being

Classes are accessible, inclusive and suitable for all levels.
